Sligo resident wins €18,000 on Lottery

SLIGO TOWN resident Mary Dillon won €18,000 on the televised lottery last night, Saturday.

Mary, from Cartron Bay, also won a holiday worth €3,000 in the National Lottery “Winning Streak” show hosted by Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy.

She appeared with a crutch — after a recent fall, Mary told co-host Kennedy.

“I just fell about ten days ago and I’m on crutches since,” she told TV viewers: “It’s not broke, it’s just ligaments.”

Threw Crutches

Seeing her name drawn last weekend: “I just threw the crutches and started swinging, I was able to manage!”

The winnings are likely to be used on “new windows at the back of the house.”

Last night’s show will be available on the RTE Player up to Monday April 2nd, Easter Monday. See link below.

Big winner on the night was Charlie Nevin of Ballydangan, Athlone — the Roscommon end of it.

Playing for his mother Maureen, Charlie got to spin the wheel and won €20,000 added to €22,000 won earlier in the show.
