A significant incident closed the N4 temporarily on Saturday when an articulated lorry left the main road in the early hours of the morning and crashed into a ditch.
Severe traffic disruption was reported at the scene approximately one mile on the Sligo side of Castlebaldwin.
The section of the road is the start of the notorious stretch to Cloonamahon where 30 white crosses acknowledge the fatalities which have occurred in the 11km section.
The road was later opened but reduced to one lane with a stop-go system in operation.
No injuries were reported. The damaged lorry was lifted from the ditch by crane. Photo: Sligo County Council
