Good Friday weather warns of ‘treacherous’ conditions

GOOD FRIDAY got under way with a belated weather warning for hail and some “treacherous driving conditions.”

A nationwide status yellow warning was issued at 8pm last night.

Said the warning: “Heavy showery rain overnight with some wintry and thundery falls.

“Hail, in particular, will lead to treacherous driving conditions,” Met Eireann warned.

Officially, its lifespan was  timed to expire at 10am on Good Friday.

Earlier last night there was a 12-car crash in Co Galway during a heavy hailstorm.

The odds on a ‘white Easter’ have receded.....until Monday at least, according to one tipster.

However, there remains a risk of regional dips to minus temperature, with heavy rainfall also forecast.
