Sligo Road and Traffic Report - 30 April 2018

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract:
 
Mail Coach Road/ Connolly St Junction - Road reinstatement works and Ironworks removal.  Traffic management in place.  Restricted working hours.

Cleveragh Road – Minor road excavation.  Two-way traffic maintained.
 
Holborn St – Footpath excavation.  No disruption to traffic.  Pedestrian access maintained.
 
Minor reinstatement works in roads and footpaths with minimal disruption to traffic. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
 
Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed.

Kilsellagh to Ballinode Pipeline Replacement Contract:

Pipelaying along The Mall (Connaughton Road junction to Bridge St) is continuing at night (7pm-7am).  Minor works will be ongoing during the day at localised sites on the Manorhamilton Road, Mollaway Hill & the Mall (Hospital roundabout to Connaughton Road junction).  Traffic control in all areas using traffic lights or Stop/Go system.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

N16 between Abbvie roundabout and Regional Stores:

Road Works will continue on the N16 Manorhamilton Road between the Abbvie Roundabout and the Regional Stores.  The works include the upgrading of the existing road pavement with some footpath and drainage works.  These works are now entering a critical phase which will necessitate a significant traffic diversion for cars and light goods vehicles travelling towards Sligo on the N16. 

This traffic will be diverted off the N16 at Doonally Cross and directed towards Sligo via Rathbraughan Line, the Old Bundoran Road and Ballytivnan Road.  HGV’s will be allowed to continue to use the N16, but will experience varying delays as they approach the works.  Delays are inevitable on all approaches to these works and motorists are advised to take alternative routes where possible.

SLIGO DRUMCLIFFE AREA:

Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-7204-0, Rinroe, Grange on Monday 30th April. Works expected to last 1 day.  Traffic Management will be in operation. Motorists to exercise caution.

Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-3204-0, Newtown, Grange on Tuesday 1st May. Works expected to last 1 day.  Traffic Management will be in operation.  Motorists to exercise caution.

Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-72172-0, Lislary, Ballinphull on Wednesday 2nd May.  Works expected to last 1 day.  Traffic Management will be in operation. Motorists to exercise caution.

Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-3303-0, Ballygilgan, Lissadell on Thursday 3rd May. Works expected to last 1 day.  Traffic Management will be in operation.  Motorists to exercise caution.

Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-3407-22, Colgagh, Calry on Friday 4th May. Works expected to last 1 day.  Traffic Management will be in operation.  Motorists to exercise caution.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Road surfacing works will commence on the R293 at Stonepark, Ballymote. A convoy system will be in operation with delays expected. Works are expected to last 6 days.

Road surfacing works will commence on the Local Roads L-1604/L-1404 at Doonmeegin (Ballymote to Castlebaldwin Road).  The road will be closed to through traffic with signed diversions in place. Works are expected to last 2 days.

Road surfacing works will commence on the Local Road L-5508 at Carrigans Upper. The road will be closed to through traffic with signed diversions in place.  Works are expected to last 1 day.

Road surfacing works will commence on the Local Road L-15013 at Rathdooney Beg.  The road will be closed to through traffic with signed diversions in place. Works are expected to last 1 day.

Road surfacing works will commence on the Local Road L-4201/L-4204 at Dromrolla (Culfada to Gurteen Road). The road will be closed to through traffic with signed diversions in place. Works are expected to last 1 day.

MINOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


A scaffolding licence has been granted for Finisklin Road 40m west of the Inner Relief Road Junction.  The scaffolding will be on the footpath with pedestrians catered for and no traffic delays are expected.

A scaffolding licence has been granted for 16 Quay Street.  The scaffolding will be on the footpath with pedestrians catered for and no traffic delays are expected.

A scaffolding licence has been granted for 10 Temple Street.  The scaffolding will be on the footpath with pedestrians catered for and no traffic delays are expected.

Fencing works will continue on the Western Distributor Road Phase 2 in the townlands of Ballydoogan, Oakfield, Maugheraboy and Caltragh.  Traffic management will be in place on the Oakfield Road L– 3601, the Ballydoogan Road L– 9406 and Rusheen Lane in Caltragh for access and egress to the site.  Minor delays are expected with works expected to be complete on the 04th May.

Holborn Hill/Fr. O’Flanagan Terrace
A lane closure will be in place on Holborn Street/Holborn Hill at the Fr. O’Flanagan Housing Development with traffic controlled by traffic signals.  This will change to a one way north bound system as the week progresses with local diversions in place.  Some minor delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:


Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:


Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

Road widening and pipe laying will be carried out on the Rathosey/Seeviness road L6801-67. A temporary road closure will be in place. Local access will be provided. Diversion via Loop road L68022-0 & L6802-27.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
