A Euro 4 Europe
Travelling around the country, I quickly realised that politics really should be funded through small donations, and not from the wallets of a small number of millionaires.
This journey has crystalised for me how some people view politics as a business they can buy their way into, while others are interested in politics for the public interest - in a belief that they can best serve people through public representation.
Yesterday, on a debate on the Pat Kenny show, I launched a campaign called A Euro 4 Europe. The aim is to really include everybody in the campaign - opening the campaign up for those with even limited resources to make a difference to a political campaign to change the representation of those in the North West. You can see a little more on this campaign at: http://www.susanokeeffe.ie/euro4europe/
Of course, money is only one aspect of a political campaign, and I am equally keen for people to get involved in the campaign in other ways. My campaign office is at Wine Street (in Tesco car park) in Sligo town, and it would be wonderful if people dropped by or called us on 087 249 1626 if you're interested in giving us a hand.
Naturally, above all, I'm depending on votes on June 5th, so please support me at the ballot box, and help spread the word of my campaign.
