I Wish to... Run the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon!

Ever wanted to run a Marathon? Make-A-Wish is looking for fitness enthusiasts around the country to take part in the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon and put themselves through the ultimate challenge to support brave children who are battling life-threatening medical conditions such as cancer, cystic fibrosis and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The event, which takes place on Sunday 29th of October, will see over 16,000 participants take part. Over the past three years the support of Dublin Marathon participants has resulted in an incredible €71,000 being raised for Make-A-Wish Ireland. The generosity of supporters last year played a huge part in helping Make-A-Wish grant 209 unique and memorable wishes to brave children across Ireland.

Susan O’Dwyer, Chief Executive Officer, Make-A-Wish Ireland is looking forward to the event. Susan said: “The SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon is the ultimate challenge for runners! Overcoming such a monumental feat brings its own rewards, but this sense of accomplishment can be multiplied by knowing you have helped grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. We are delighted to support runners in their fundraising efforts so that they focus on their training.”

To join the race, experience the ultimate challenge and help Make-A-Wish raise much needed funds to grant even more special wishes, email: or call: 01 205 2012. You will receive your very own Make-A-Wish charity fundraising race pack. For further information on Make-A-Wish, visit
