Ever wanted to run a Marathon?
Make-A-Wish is looking for fitness enthusiasts around the country to
take part in the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon and put
themselves through the ultimate challenge to support brave children who
are battling life-threatening medical conditions such as cancer, cystic
fibrosis and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The event, which takes place on
Sunday 29th of October, will see over 16,000 participants
take part. Over the past three years the support of Dublin Marathon
participants has resulted
in an incredible €71,000 being raised for Make-A-Wish Ireland.
The generosity of supporters last year played a huge part in
helping Make-A-Wish grant 209 unique and memorable wishes to brave
children across Ireland.
Susan O’Dwyer, Chief Executive Officer,
Make-A-Wish Ireland is looking forward to the event. Susan said: “The
SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon is the ultimate challenge
for runners! Overcoming such a monumental feat brings its own rewards,
but this sense of accomplishment can be multiplied by knowing you have
grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. We are
delighted to support runners in their fundraising efforts so that they
focus on their training.”
