Undercurrents; Divergent Paths in Contemporary Folk at The Model
The Model is delighted to present the third concert in our new music series Undercurrents; Divergent Paths in Contemporary Folk, curated by Emer Mayock. This performance brings Italian born, Dublin based jazz pianist and explorer of new sonic realms, Francesco Turrisi together with traditional Irish/Egyptian singer Róisín Elsafty for a very special performance on Fri., 10 Nov. at 8pm.
For this collaboration Turrisi and Elsaftly reimagine the ancient melodies of Sean-nós in bold new settings with Arabic influences (inspired by Elsaftly’s half-Egyptian heritage) and the almost electronic soundscapes created by Turrisi’s experimental instrumental techniques. >> Get your tickets here >> High Winds Move Slowly - closing Sun., 12 Nov.
